Ok, so it seems that the overarching theme so far is food. Whether it is a good feeding or the tactical placement of treats, food can apparently take you quite far. Though from pawsonal experience I know that food is not the be all and end all. Which is why I want to reference back to the suggestion of reading a book or talking to the cats in general. Cats are so sensitive to sound that if you spend all your time with them in stunned silence that is what they will get used to. And the second you open your mouth to say something you will likely spook the heck out of them.

Oh wow, ok this is a good one to print out and put on the fridge. Routine can be an amazing tool to encourage a feral feline to put their trust in you. Regular feedings and rituals make it easier for them to accept you and your touch, all the while building little by little each time the routine is put into action. This will take patience, time and effort, but it could very well be the most sure fire way to petting that cat you have always dreamed of.
